Jared Shears was born and raised in Roy, UT and began playing competitive golf at the age of 7. His passion for golf earned him a full ride scholarship at Weber State University from 1997-2002. In 2002, Jared began his career in the golf industry by playing in state opens and trying to obtain his dream of playing on the PGA Tour. In 2004 he spent a short time caddying on the PGA Tour for Tour Pro Boyd Summerhays. In June 2010, Jared qualified to play in the National Club Pro Championship in French Lick, Indiana. Through this experience he saw an opportunity to help golfers through specific, focused instruction. This started by becoming an AimPoint Certified Instructor. This simplistic form of instruction on putting led him to search out a more simple way of teaching the full swing. In March 2013, Jared was accredited in the 5 Simple Keys® teaching system and was named Director of Instruction. His students have had success at every level from beginners to players on the Web.com and PGA Tour. He is currently working with Web.com Tour winner and PGA Tour player Tyler Aldridge. After first working with Tyler, he had three top 10’s over the next 10 weeks, and a win just a short three weeks later. Jared has also worked with Drew Scott and PGA Tour winner Ted Purdy. Jared looks forward to using these same skills from working with Tour players to teaching golfers everywhere.
